Surprise, Surprise, Surprise!

I pleasantly surprised Mitch today,

as I've always been mentally weaker

and we had another disagreement, 

a little dip into the stinging, salty sea 

of missed understanding, yes fell we 

surely did upon the tar pits of sinking 

patience and aggravating, stinking old 

habits, but a lifeline vine of emotionally 

fine love, forgiveness, total acceptance

saved us from another painful parting

and we pulled ourselves from that mess.

This nice moment Mitch waited years for

and surprise, surprise, surprise, he has it!
