We burned like candles primely lit
Our lamps of youth so strong and bright
Twin beacons born to radiate
In flares of stardust candlelight
We flashed like molten lava cooled
Our wicks snuffed out in smokey plumes
Twin lanterns once so promising
On candlesticks that ran on fumes
We melted down to mounds of wax
Our pillars soon dropped out of sight
Twin flashes fluxing aimlessly
In flames of fallen Fahrenheit
