as nothing's ever better, at filling her with pleasure

he coddles it with wonderment, hour after hour

The grammar child seeks prizes, awarded and achieved

forgetting to be thankful, and never saying please

The high schoolers want kisses, are happy holding hands

don't care about tomorrow, and ignore their parent's plans

College kids covet success, set their goals to get ahead

but soon find life's not easy, then settle for less instead

Grownups push for power, wealth fills their empty space

abandoning all humanity, they betray the human race
